The Hepatitis Ambassadors for Change program gives individuals with lived Hepatitis C and/or harm reduction experience an opportunity to directly impact policies that have impacted them and their loved ones.
Hepatitis Ambassadors for Change is a peer advocacy program that distributes Hepatitis C and harm reduction information across the state while also utilizing personal experiences to advocate for better or continued services. The participants of Hepatitis Ambassadors for Change will have an opportunity to gain and spread comprehensive facts regarding hepatitis and harm reduction, as well as partake in trainings focused on hepatitis treatment, prevention, various forms of harm reduction, and professional skill building (great for those seeking a resume booster.) By the end of these trainings, Ambassadors will be able to tell others about services in their area, advocate on behalf of these services using data and health facts, and eventually even assist in leading trainings with their peers in their respective communities.
Click here for the link to the Hepatitis Ambassadors for Change application, further outlining duties and opportunities for Ambassadors to engage communities and foster change. The program also offers a stipend to Ambassadors, which will be further explored after the application closes. For those who feel their strengths are more spoken than written, we are also offering applicants a chance to interview in place of completing an application. There is a link in the application to a doodle poll to schedule an interview and the questions will be the same as listed in the application.
We will be accepting applications between Friday May 8th- Monday May 25th. If there are any questions or concerns, please feel free to email De’ Shea Coney at deshea@ncaan.org.
