The North Carolina AIDS Action Network is thrilled to release this call for proposals for mini-grants to support efforts to educate and enroll people living with HIV on health insurance during open enrollment in 2020. Given recent changes to the NC HIV Medication Assistance Program, we have an opportunity to significantly increase the number of people in the state living with HIV enrolled in health insurance in 2021.
We are looking for creative and innovative ideas to support increased enrollment, with a focus on people making less than 100% of the poverty level who are newly eligible to enroll in the Premium Copay Assistance Program. Funds can support staff time, materials, media, or other efforts to increase enrollment.
Please send your responses to these three questions, your most recent 990, and a budget to Donte Prayer at donte@ncaan.org. Submissions will be considered on a rolling basis, with the final deadline being October 22, 2020. Mini-grants are likely to be between $1,000 – $2,500.
- What is your organization’s mission and history supporting people living with HIV?
- Describe your planned activities to increase enrollment. Make sure to consider the tight timeline, open enrollment is from November 1, 2020 – December 15, 2020.
- How will you prioritize communities most impacted by HIV (communities of color, gay/bi-sexual/same gender loving men, the trans community) in this effort?
