Honor Our Accomplishments with a Donation to NCAAN
NCAAN launched our new individual giving program with a grassroots fundraising and call night in November that raised $1413 in one evening. That's a huge accomplishment, but it still puts us less than halfway to our goal of $3000 in individual gifts to support our continued advocacy work.
The suggested donations below honor our accomplishments and remind us of the need for greater advocacy on HIV/AIDS issues in North Carolina. Please make a donation today to ensure we have the resources we need to continue fighting for the rights of people living with HIV/AIDS, their loved ones, and those at risk of acquiring HIV/AIDS in the future:
Record Breakers - $507
NCAAN set a new record in late September, when our volunteers collected 507 petition postcards in one day in support of increased federal funding for the AIDS Drug Assistance Program. A donation of $507 will provide us with critical resources to break our own records as we build a bigger, stronger HIV/AIDS advocacy movement.
Health Care for Everyone Includes People Living with HIV/AIDS - $315
NCAAN carried “Health Care for Everyone Includes People Living with HIV/AIDS” signs in the 2011 HKonJ March and Rally, a huge annual event led by the state NAACP where we educated people about the disproportional incidence of HIV among African Americans and signed up 315 people to receive our Action Alerts. Your contribution of $315 will help us to continue teaching about health care disparities and reaching communities of color.
Voter ID - $266
NCAAN used a grant from Blueprint NC to run a voter education campaign this summer through which we identified 266 new supporters in strategic areas of the state. Your donation of $266 will help us to keep building our power all across North Carolina.
Advocacy Day - $159
Our HIV/AIDS Advocacy Day brought together 159 people from across the state to learn more about HIV/AIDS policy issues, participate in advocacy training sessions, and meet with their legislators. Your donation of $159 will show your support for these grassroots advocates while providing us with vital resources to build our advocacy programs.
Volunteer Appreciation - $104
We couldn’t have grown as much as we did this past year without the help of 104 people who’ve volunteered with us at outreach events, phone banks, and data entry nights. Your donation of $104 will honor their work while helping us to continue building our capacity for effective grassroots advocacy work.
Turn Up the Volume - $76
This year NCAAN mobilized our Action Team to protect funding for non-traditional HIV testing and prevention programs, generating at least 76 calls in the first day of our campaign. Your contribution of $76 will help us to turn up the volume when needed as we continue to fight for HIV prevention and treatment programs.
We Recruit! - $54.89 or $55
You can only mobilize supporters you’ve identified, which is why we put so much effort into recruiting new people to join our Action Team over the past twelve months. We’re now at 5,489 supporters! Help us keep growing with a donation of 54.89 – or round up to $55 even
Why We Fight - $35
There are 35,000 people living with HIV/AIDS in North Carolina. Your donation of $35 will help us to fight for their rights, and for the rights of their loved ones and those at risk of acquiring HIV/AIDS in North Carolina.
Our First Volunteers - $13
We began our volunteer program with thirteen newly recruited volunteers helping NCAAN do community outreach at last year’s World AIDS Day events in Durham and Greensboro. A donation of $13 helps us remember our history and build for a stronger future.
